A Grand Junction area Marine recruiter has been charged with possesion of more than 200 files of child pornography. The Colorado Springs Gazette is reporting that Craig Walker surrendered to police on Monday on a warrant alleging exploitation of a child. An arrest affidavit says authorities tracking IP addresses of computers that were sharing child pornography files led them to Walker’s computer.
According to Safefamilies.org, as of 2003 there were 1.3 million pornographic websites on the internet. More than 200,000 images of child pornography are posted online every week with approximately 20 percent of all pornography viewed online being of the child exploitative nature. As of 2005, child pornography was a $3 billion annual industry with 100,000 websites offering illegal child pornography.
